I’ve rebooted, downloaded YouTube again, and many other things that do nothing. Apple keeps making things more complicated.

The iOS UI has been steadily getting worse and now is almost to the point of being unusable. It’s a shame.

The only way I was able to update my app was to search for it and find the update that way.

I have also rebooted my phone and there is still no option to see the apps I have or how to update them. this totally pisses me off, since I mainly use my iPhone for navigation and email and now I can’t quickly access the important updates anymore.

For example google maps won’t work on iPhone if it is not up to date. How can apple make updates like this?

Luckily my main phone for 3 years now has been Oneplus and it still works like new without problems like this.

So now of the four tabs, there is one for “games” and one for “arcade”, which is effectively the same thing. Everything is geared toward 10 year-olds now. What a sick joke this culture has become.

Hi Journey,

Find the app updates function under your Account icon in the top-right corner of the app store app.

If any updates for apps are available, it should show a red badge with a number indicating how many apps need updating.

Tap your account icon and scroll down, then choose to Update All or update apps one-by-one by tapping on the Update button next to the app you want to update.

If you don’t see any available updates, that usually means all your apps are current and do not require an update.

Liz

Agreed. I hate improvements. Had to change an 8 year old iPad. Confusing.

BUT I just turned off my phone entirely, restarted the phone, and the updates worked. When all else fails, REBOOT. Halleujah!!

Because now you have Arcade to spend your time and money on. It’s great! Just shut up and keep shelling out for pointless crap! Don’t worry about key features, just hand over that money.

Great job, Apple! Nice work keeping things simple.

The latest changes to app update procedures & demise of iTunes suck.
I will be checking out android phones for my next purchase, also a year end purchase of an iPad is likely off the table!

Why didn’t Apple try harder to hide the updates?

Hi Sarah,

Are you seeing Archive instead of Delete?

If so, you need to change your mailbox behavior in the Passwords & Account settings for your email service provider.

Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Choose your account > Tap the name of your account again > Select Advanced > under Move discarded Messages into change to Deleted Mailbox > tap the account back button > select Done to save.

Restart your Mail app and then see if you now see the delete option

Thanks

If Steve Jobs we’re still around, they would be. I’m using an iPad air2 and had no problem whatsoever – until now. I can’t update my apps nor can I access the store on them. The fix they provided isn’t working.
