hello, I lost my iphone but it is currently offline is there no a way on how to find it apart from waiting for it to be online?

I misplaced my iPhone. I do a search on my laptop for “Find my iphone” which prompts me to log into my iCloud account, which I do. Then I get a message that “a verification code was sent to your device” but the only reason I am doing this is because I cannot find my device.
