In this article, you’ll discover everything you need to know about using the app for your iPhone. You will learn about what you can do, how much it costs, and much more. Without further ado, let’s get into the swing of things.
What Can You Use Notion For?
Before we talk about how you can use Notion for iOS, let’s look at some of the tasks it’s helpful for. Below, you’ll discover a selection of scenarios in which you might wish to turn to Notion.
Reading Lists
If you’re an avid reader, you will probably have a decent-sized list of books that you’ll wish to enjoy at a later date. But having them lying around your house for a while beforehand might get annoying – and purchasing several books in one go can also become relatively expensive.
For titles you’re not yet ready to read, you can use Notion to create reading lists. If you go to notion.so/templates, you will find a reading list template ready for you to use. You can use it to add links to the stores your books are on, along with including the title and name of the author.
Itineraries
Regardless of whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a trip that’ll last a little longer, having an idea of what you’ll do is a good idea. Or, at the very least, you may want to have a list of things that you’d find interesting to experience.
If you’re planning your next trip, Notion for iOS is an excellent companion. You can create simple to-do lists to ensure that you don’t miss anything before you travel and even break things down on a day-to-day basis.
If you find museums, restaurants, or other attractions that you think would be interesting, you can also add these for easy access at a later stage.
Goal-Setting
Regardless of whether you’re trying to advance your career or achieve a fitness objective, setting and tracking goals can help you get to your end destination quicker. And with the Notion app for iOS, you can easily keep an eye on your progress – along with reminding yourself of what you set out to do.
In Notion, you can set weekly, monthly, and yearly goals – and you might also want to create objectives that go even further than that. Keeping these in one place is simple, and you can also use the app to make action points.
Like when making a travel itinerary, you may also find it useful to add links to things you need to refer to later – such as YouTube videos for workout form.
Taking General Notes
When you’re out and about, you will probably have several thoughts each day. If you need to quickly jot something down, Notion is handy for doing precisely that.
You can also use the app to make shopping lists if you need to pick something up on the way home. And if you need to do a weekly grocery haul, you will similarly find Notion handy for that.
Other note-taking ideas you might find Notion helpful for include:
- Taking notes during meetings
- Noting important passages in books you read or from website articles
- Planning birthday parties
Project Management
If you’re working on a big project, Notion is handy for tracking its progress. You can use the app to break down tasks based on what you need to complete this week, along with over the rest of the quarter. And if you want, you can delve even further into the long term.
You can download several Notion Management templates on the website we listed earlier in this article. Once you’ve got them, you can use them on your iPhone. You will, in some cases, need to pay – but others are free.
Is Notion Free to Use on iOS?
If you want to use Notion for iOS, downloading the app is free – and so is signing up for an account. You can also use many of the most useful features without purchasing a paid subscription.
The only time you really need a paid plan is if you want to collaborate with larger teams. You can share with up to five guests in the free edition, and you’re also not capped on how many pages you can create.
If you want unlimited file uploads and whatnot, you might want to consider purchasing a paid subscription.
How to Create Pages on Notion for iOS
Having read this far, you should have a pretty good basic understanding of the Notion app for iOS. You’ll know whether you need a paid subscription, along with the types of things you can use it for. Let’s look at how to use specific features within the app, starting with pages.
Creating a page in Notion for iOS is incredibly simple. At the bottom of your screen, you will see a + button in the right-hand corner. You will also see a similar symbol next to any pages you’ve already created, which you can select if you want to add another subpage to that section.
Once you’ve made your choice, Notion will create a new page for you. Here, you can add your title, text, and so on.
How to Customize Pages on Notion for iOS
When you’ve created your page, you’re ready to customize it as you feel it is necessary. Toward the bottom of your screen, you will see a + icon; if you expand this, you can create subheadings, to-do lists, and more. You can refer to the last screenshot in the previous section for an example.
You can also add photos and other files, along with bolding your text or turning it into italics. Similarly, you can turn blocks into different things.
If you go to the three-circle icon in the top right, you can choose your font style – along with locking the page if you feel it is necessary. You will also see an option titled Customize page, which allows you to tweak a selection of features.
How to Group Pages Together on Notion for iOS
As you use Notion more, you might notice that your pages start to get a little disjointed. Luckily, you can make things easier by grouping related ones together.
When grouping your pages together in the Notion app for iOS, you have several options. If you hit the three dots icon next to your page on the main screen and select Move To, you can group your page under your preferred choice.
Another option is to go to the page you want to group your other one with and type @ on your keyboard – or select the @ icon at the bottom. You will then see a list of pages; pick the one you want to add, and it’ll appear as a link within the document.
Can You Sync Your Notion Notes Elsewhere?
When you use Notion for iOS, your notes and pages will automatically sync across all devices. As a result, you can pick up where you left off when signing in on your Mac and iPad.
You can also share your Notion pages with other users. Tap the three dots icon next to the page you wish to do this for and select Copy link, before pasting and sending it to the person you want to receive it.
